Carmarthenshire is in south-west Wales and one of it's most historic counties. The three largest towns are Llanelli, Carmarthen and Ammanford. Carmarthen is the county town and administrative centre. It's known for the National Botanic Gardens. Carmarthenshire has been inhabited since prehistoric times.
